Process Specialist – Bank reconciliation

Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Process Specialist to join our R2R – Bank reconciliation team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the R2R Bank process, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and strong skills in managing and handling escalations. This role requires a proactive individual who can lead stakeholder reviews, governance calls, and act as the single point of contact for all process-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process Expertise:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Record to Report (R2R - Bank) function and its subprocesses, including all its components and interdependencies.
- Stay updated with the latest industry practices and standards related to R2R processes. Keep communicating and recommend those changes to existing processes for improvement in performance and governance.
- Provide expert advice and insights to the team and stakeholders on process-related matters. Bridge the gap between middle management and transaction level process by summarizing the issue and translating it in commonly understandable language.
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Own the process expertise, prioritize continuous learning, and boldly innovate to enhance process efficiency.

- Problem Solving:
- Identify and analyze process issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.




- Conduct thorough root cause analysis to determine the underlying causes of process problems.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and adjust as necessary.
- Communicate actions to all relevant stakeholders, recommend process changes if required.
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Take ownership of problem-solving, prioritize impactful solutions, and boldly innovate to prevent future issues.

- Escalation Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for handling escalations related to the R2R process.
- Assess the severity and impact of escalations and prioritize them accordingly.
- Coordinate with relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of escalations.
- Communicate the status and outcomes of escalations to all involved parties.
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Own the escalation process, prioritize swift resolutions, and delight customers by effectively managing their concerns.

- Stakeholder Management:
- Lead regular stakeholder reviews and governance calls to discuss process performance, issues, and improvements.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and updates on process metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Facilitate discussions and decision-making during stakeholder meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Actively help R2R processes to build solid relationships with stakeholders and customers to improve NPS and CSAT survey results
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Own leadership responsibilities, prioritize stakeholder engagement, and inspire people through effective communication and collaboration.

- Team Guidance:
- Serve as a mentor and guide for team members, providing support and guidance on process-related queries.
- Lead by example, demonstrate best practices and share successful improvement initiatives with the team.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Encourage continuous learning and development within the team.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance the team's understanding of the R2R process.
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Own the role of a mentor,



prioritize team development, and inspire people by sharing knowledge and best practices.

- Process Monitoring:
- Regularly monitor the R2R process to ensure it is running according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) designed by Global Process Owners.
- Identify and report any deviations or non-compliance with the SOPs.
- Communicate changes or updates to the process Maps to the relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that all process changes are documented and reflected in the SOPs.
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Own the monitoring process, prioritize adherence to standards, and boldly innovate to improve process compliance.

- Documentation:
- Own the responsibility for maintaining and updating process maps and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to the team.
- Review and revise documentation regularly to reflect process improvements and changes.
- Collaborate with Global Process Owners to ensure the alignment of documentation with global standards.
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Own the documentation process, prioritize accuracy and accessibility, and boldly innovate to keep documentation current and relevant.

- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
- Implement solutions to address process gaps and enhance overall performance.
- Demonstrate best practices and share successful improvement initiatives with the team.
- Track and measure the impact of process improvements on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Advocate and Demonstrate Bold Behaviors: Own the continuous improvement process, prioritize impactful changes, and boldly innovate to drive process excellence.

Other Qualifications:

- Proven experience in the Record to Report process or a similar financial process.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing escalations and stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and reviews.
- Proficiency in processing documentation and updating SOPs.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools used in the Record to Report process.
- Robust analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions
