Job Summary

The ICU Incharge is responsible for the overall management and coordination of nursing services in the Intensive Care Unit. The role ensures high-quality patient care, efficient staff management, compliance with hospital policies, and adherence to infection control and patient safety standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate nursing care for critically ill patients.
- Ensure compliance with ICU protocols, nursing standards, and clinical guidelines.
- Monitor patient care quality and ensure timely interventions.
- Coordinate with intensivists, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment, and nursing care.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the ICU.

Administrative Responsibilities

- Prepare and manage duty rosters and staff schedules.
- Supervise nursing staff performance and provide guidance and mentorship.
- Monitor staffing levels and recommend recruitment when required.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of ICU equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of medical equipment.
- Maintain ICU records, reports, and quality indicators.

Quality & Patient Safety

- Implement infection prevention and control practices.
- Monitor compliance with patient safety initiatives and hospital accreditation standards.
- Conduct clinical audits and participate in quality improvement programs.
- Investigate and report incidents, medication errors, and adverse events.

Training & Development





- Conduct orientation programs for new ICU staff.
- Organize regular clinical training, mock drills, and continuing nursing education.
- Assess staff competencies and identify training needs.
- Encourage evidence-based nursing practices.

Communication & Coordination

- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and other departments.
- Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding nursing-related matters.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

- B.Sc. Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing (preferred)
- Valid Nursing Council registration
- Certification in BLS and ACLS (preferred)

Experience

- 2–5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of ICU experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

Working Conditions

- Rotational shifts as required.
- Availability for emergency situations and on-call responsibilities.
- Compliance with hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
