The Concept Artist works as part of a team executing CG and traditional artwork, helping to create artwork that adheres to a specific design or “look” of a show.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Exceptional drawing skills in both traditional and digital formats
- Experience creating some or all of the following: environments, hard surface, creature and character design and matte paintings
- Have a strong background in traditional art skills and demonstrate an understanding of fundamentals like three-dimensional space, composition, perspective, proportion, scale, value, depth and colour theory
- Ensure work is done according to specifications outlined by the Director / Creative team of a show
- Ability to assemble research and reference material that will be influential to clients and design team
- The ability to work both independently and within a production environment




- Demonstration of solid artistic interpretation skills are also required
- Assist with project clean up and archiving on an ongoing basis

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and significant experience in producing concept art for VFX / Feature films and games

- Proficiency in design software like Photoshop/ sketchup is required.
- Experience or knowledge of story boarding, cinematic techniques, language and shot composition
- Portfolio of professional and personal work is a must

BROWNIE POINTS

- Knowledge of softwares like Zbrush, Unreal and Modo is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding and creation of photo real work
