Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior NPD Engineer (Sheet Metal) to join our New Product Development team. In this role, you will lead the development of recent sheet metal components and assemblies from concept to production, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, tool rooms, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Product Design & Modeling: Create and optimize 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for sheet metal parts using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/NX).
- APQP & PPAP Documentation: Maintain complete NPD documentation including APQP stages, PPAP submissions, DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans.
- Tooling & Press Coordination: Oversee the design, fabrication, and trials of progressive dies, stage tools, and jigs/fixtures required for sheet metal pressing.
- Feasibility Analysis: Conduct technical and manufacturing feasibility studies (DFM) for raw customer RFQs.
- Prototyping & Testing: Supervise the manufacturing of initial prototype samples and coordinate validation testing.
- Vendor Management: Work closely with tool rooms and material vendors to source quality raw materials and tooling components.
- Cost Optimization: Implement cost-reduction strategies through value engineering (VA/VE)



and material utilization improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Resolve technical issues during product trials and implement corrective actions (CAPA).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Education: B.Tech / BE / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 7+ years of core experience in Sheet Metal NPD / Tooling, preferably within the automotive component manufacturing industry.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Creo, or NX) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of sheet metal forming processes (blanking, bending, drawing), GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance), and metallurgy.
- Quality Standards: In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and core HR tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
