An ITI Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and machinery in industries such as manufacturing, construction, power plants, automobile, and maintenance workshops.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints
- Assemble machine parts and mechanical components
- Perform fitting, drilling, cutting, grinding, and alignment work
- Install and maintain industrial machinery and equipment
- Check dimensions using measuring instruments like vernier calipers and micrometers
- Repair faulty mechanical systems and replace damaged parts
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities
- Ensure workplace safety and follow company SOPs
- Maintain tools and equipment properly
Required Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical fitting and fabrication

Qualification
- ITI Certificate in Fitter Trade from a recognized institute
- Apprenticeship experience preferred
