Role description

Derivatives Senior Analyst

The Transaction Services team is a multi-skilled operations function supporting cash operations, asset servicing, trade operations, and derivatives processing. The role requires a detail-oriented qualified who thrives in a fast-paced environment, collaborates effectively across teams, and demonstrates a strong interest in operational excellence and technology-driven process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Process assigned transactions and events within defined deadlines, ensuring timely follow-up and escalation where required.
- Prioritize workload effectively and escalate issues to senior team members when appropriate.
- Investigate and resolve stock and cash reconciliation breaks and operational queries within agreed timelines.
- Manage stakeholder and client communications with a focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Support ad-hoc operational tasks and project initiatives, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines.
- Adhere to operational controls, procedures, and risk management practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and risk reduction.
- Collaborate with internal operational teams, Portfolio Implementers, Dealers, and external counterparties on daily operational matters.
- Mentor and support junior analysts within the team.
- Ensure timely and comprehensive escalation/reporting of operational issues and incidents.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

- Strong experience in Derivatives Operations, including Collateral Management.
- Hands-on experience with Aladdin.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of transaction services and operational workflows.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience handling reconciliations,



operational breaks, and escalations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Good-to-Have Skills & Experience

- Experience in Trade Operations across asset classes:
- Equities
- Fixed Income (including ABS/MBS)
- FX
- Money Markets
- Unit Trusts
- Repo
- Term Deposits

- Experience in Cash Operations, particularly payments processing.
- Working knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards.
- Understanding of Corporate Actions processing:

- Mandatory events
- Voluntary events
- Income processing

- Knowledge of operational risks across the transaction and asset lifecycle.
- Experience driving process improvements or automation initiatives.
- Prior experience mentoring junior team members.

Qualification & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Relevant experience in Investment Operations / Transaction Services / Derivatives Operations environment preferred.
