Visiting Cardiologist (Consultant – Weekly OPD)

Job Summary

The Visiting Cardiologist provides specialized outpatient cardiology consultation services by conducting a scheduled OPD clinic once a week. The consultant is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with cardiovascular diseases, providing evidence-based treatment recommendations, and collaborating with primary care physicians and other specialists to ensure continuity of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct weekly outpatient cardiology consultations as per the agreed schedule.
- Evaluate patients presenting with cardiac symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.
- Review medical history, perform cardiovascular examinations, and interpret diagnostic investigations including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and laboratory reports.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe appropriate medications.
- Recommend and coordinate further investigations or interventions when indicated.
- Refer patients requiring hospitalization or advanced cardiac procedures to appropriate facilities.
- Provide follow-up consultations for patients with chronic cardiovascular conditions.
- Counsel patients and families regarding disease prevention, lifestyle modification, medication adherence, and risk factor management.




- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the hospital's electronic or paper medical records.
- Communicate findings and treatment plans with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives and comply with hospital policies and applicable regulatory standards.

Qualifications

- MBBS with MD/DNB (General Medicine) and DM/DNB (Cardiology), or an equivalent recognized qualification in Cardiology.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate Medical Council.
- Current license to practice as required by applicable regulations.

Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in clinical cardiology is preferred.
- Experience in outpatient cardiology consultation and management of common and complex cardiovascular conditions.

- Proficiency in interpreting cardiac diagnostic investigations.

Working Schedule

- Consultant OPD: Once per week (as per the hospital schedule).
- Attend additional consultations or emergency reviews only if mutually agreed and scheduled.
- Availability for telephonic consultation with the treating physician, when appropriate.

Pay: ₹3,000.00 per hour
