Job Title:

Project Engineer – Commercial Kitchen (Execution)

Reporting To:

CEO/Director

Role Objective:

To execute end-to-end installation and commissioning of commercial kitchen projects, ensuring adherence to design drawings, technical specifications, timelines, safety standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Execution & Site Management

Execute turnkey commercial kitchen projects (hot kitchen, bakery, cold kitchen, dishwashing areas, utility sections).

Interpret GA drawings, services drawings (MEP), shop drawings, BOQs.

Coordinate site readiness with civil, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC teams.

Monitor daily site progress and ensure milestone adherence.

2. Installation & Coordination

Supervise installation of:

Cooking equipment (ranges, tilting boilers, combi ovens)

Refrigeration systems (cold rooms, deep freezers)

Utility systems (exhaust, fresh air, gas pipeline)

Ensure alignment with technical specifications and consultant approvals.

Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and subcontractors.

3. MEP & Services Integration

Ensure proper execution of:

Electrical load connections & panel interfacing

Gas bank installation & pipeline testing

Drainage slopes and water inlet connections

Exhaust ducting & ventilation balancing

Cross-check site conditions vs drawings before installation.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

Ensure work complies with:

Food safety standards (FSSAI norms)

Fire safety requirements

Local authority approvals

Conduct inspection checklists and snag rectification.

5. Testing & Commissioning

Perform pre-commissioning checks.

Coordinate trial runs of equipment.

Ensure performance validation as per specifications.





Handover system with documentation and client training.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain:

Daily progress reports (DPR)

Material inward/outward records

Installation checklists

As-built drawings

Support billing team with measurement sheets and RA bills.

7. Client & Stakeholder Coordination

Act as primary site-level contact for:

Consultants

Government authorities

Client representatives

Attend site meetings and provide execution updates.

8. Cost & Resource Management

Track material consumption vs BOQ

Minimize wastage and rework

Coordinate manpower deployment efficiently

Required Qualifications:

Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering

2–6 years experience in:

Commercial kitchen projects

Hospitality / institutional kitchen execution

MEP coordination projects

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of:

Kitchen equipment layouts & workflow

MEP services coordination

Gas systems & ventilation design basics

Proficiency in:

AutoCAD (mandatory)

MS Excel / Project tracking tools

Key Competencies:

Site problem-solving ability

Coordination & communication skills

Time management & deadline focus

Attention to technical detail

Ability to work under pressure on multiple sites

Preferred Experience:

Industrial kitchen projects / central kitchens / hotels kitchens

Experience with turnkey contractors

Exposure to high-capacity kitchens (1000+ meals)

Project completion within timeline

Zero major rework / quality deviations

Client satisfaction score

Cost control vs BOQ

Successful commissioning without delays

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹242,067.37 - ₹794,751.22 per year
