Role Description
A procurement pharmacist manages the purchasing, supply chain, and inventory of medicines to ensure clinical availability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. Key duties include managing drug orders, negotiating with suppliers, auditing stock levels, and coordinating with clinical teams to prevent shortages, often with a focus on high-value or contracted items.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Supplier & Contract Management: Negotiating with pharmaceutical suppliers, managing, and maintaining compliance with national or local contracts.
- Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory, conducting regular stock checks, and managing distribution.
- Procurement Operations: Placing orders, processing invoices, and overseeing the receipt of goods.
- Strategic Sourcing: Identifying reliable suppliers, evaluating products for quality, and selecting vendors based on compliance and cost.
- Clinical Collaboration: Aligning inventory with clinical needs by engaging with clinicians and pharmacists.

Typical Qualifications and Skills
- Valid Pharmacist license.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chains, procurement software, and hospital inventory systems.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience: Candidate should have experience of 5 years working in a Company dealing with Domestic & International supplies related Tenders of Pharmaceuticals & Surgical Goods.
Detail-oriented with robust documentation and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willing to travel
