Job Descritpion of Linux Admin

9+ Years Relevant Experience

We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in SUSE Linux, virtualization environments, system troubleshooting, automation, and cloud (Azure) technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Linux server management, networking, and high availability setups.

Key Responsibilities

Linux / SUSE Administration

- Manage and maintain SUSE Linux Servers across physical and virtual environments.
- Build, re-image, and configure SUSE servers, including Linux VMs in ESX/VMware environments.
- Provide L3 support for complex technical issues.
- Manage antivirus environments, patching, and OS upgrades.
- Work with core Linux services including DNS, NFS, Samba, FTP, LDAP, NTP, Email.
- Handle SAN/NAS storage, RAID, and LVM management.
- Manage package installation and updates.
- Utilize scripting languages like Shell and Perl for automation.
- Administer and troubleshoot cluster environments.
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve technical issues across Linux systems.
- Ensure proper implementation of system security, backup/recovery strategies, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Work with configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
- Good understanding of Pacemaker, Corosync,



and cluster stack resource configurations.

Azure Cloud Skills

- Robust knowledge of Azure platforms (IaaS, PaaS) and cloud deployment architectures.
- Ability to design and implement solutions for on-premise to cloud migrations.
- Provide architectural guidance for Azure-based solutions.
- Experience with Azure App Services, Azure Resource Manager (ARM Templates), and Azure automation.
- Good understanding of Azure storage options.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking components such as:
- VNETs
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- ExpressRoute
- Site-to-Site & Point-to-Site VPNs

Required Skills

- Strong Linux administration experience (SUSE preferred).
- Deep knowledge of OS fundamentals, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security.
- Hands-on experience in virtualization (VMware/ESX).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DHCP, routing, and DNS resolution.
- Experience with monitoring and system health tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Nice to Have

- Certifications such as SUSE Certified Administrator/Engineer, RHCE, or Azure certifications.
- Experience with cloud automation and DevOps practices.
