Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive Purchase Engineer (Production Support) to manage the procurement of production-specific engineering items. Your primary focus will be sourcing change parts, punches & dies, format parts, and specialized spares for formulation machinery (Granulation, Compression, Coating, Capsule, and Packaging lines) to ensure zero downtime on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

- Production Line Support: Procure machine-specific spares, change parts, tooling (e.g., punches and dies), and format parts for primary/secondary packaging lines based on the production schedule.
- RFQ & Negotiation: Floating inquiries, reviewing technical drawings provided by the production/engineering team, creating commercial comparisons, and negotiating best prices and delivery timelines.
- Vendor & OEM Management: Coordinate directly with machine OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and local fabrication vendors for customized change parts.
- Order Execution: Efficiently manage the PR-to-PO cycle using SAP/ERP, ensuring accurate line-item details and tax terms (GST, Freight).
- Compliance Support:



Ensure all change parts and production spares come with necessary food-grade/pharma-grade certificates, MOC (Material of Construction) certificates, and comply with cGMP guidelines.
- Expediting & Inventory: Track urgent breakdown requirements, expedite transit, and coordinate with the engineering stores to maintain optimum inventory of critical production spares.

Required Profile

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years in engineering procurement, specifically handling production spares and tooling within a Pharma Formulation plant.
- Location: Karachiya, Jarod - Savli road, Vadodara
- Technical Skills: Strong command of MS Excel, and the ability to read basic engineering/machine component drawings.
- Core Competencies: Strong understanding of pharma manufacturing machinery, excellent commercial negotiation skills, and the agility to handle urgent plant breakdown situations.
