Job Roles and Responsibilities of STP/ETP Operator1. Operation and Monitoring

- Operate and monitor treatment plant machinery and equipment (pumps, blowers, aerators, clarifiers, filters, etc.).
- Regularly check control panels, meters, and SCADA systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Monitor flow rates, chemical levels, and other operational parameters.

2. Wastewater Treatment Process Management

- Control biological, chemical, and physical treatment processes.
- Ensure proper aeration, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection of wastewater.
- Manage sludge treatment and disposal processes effectively.

3. Sampling and Testing

- Collect water and sludge samples from various stages of the treatment process.
- Conduct basic on-site tests (pH, TDS, COD, BOD, etc.).
- Send samples to labs for detailed analysis as per environmental norms.

4. Maintenance

- Perform routine maintenance of mechanical and electrical components.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or inefficiencies.
- Assist in repairs and coordinate with maintenance teams for major servicing.

5. Chemical Handling

- Handle dosing and storage of treatment chemicals (chlorine, alum, lime,



etc.).
- Ensure correct chemical dosing and monitor residuals.

6. Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain daily operation logs and records of flow rates, chemical usage, and test results.
- Report any deviations or unusual findings to supervisors or environmental officers.
- Keep maintenance records and calibration logs.

7. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with local and national environmental regulations.
- Ensure treated water meets discharge standards.

8. Emergency Response

- Respond promptly to alarms, breakdowns, or treatment failures.
- Take corrective actions to prevent environmental contamination.

9. Housekeeping and Hygiene

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the plant premises.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals and tools.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
