Key Responsibilities

1. In-Process & Line Inspection

- Inspect parts during machining (CNC, turning, milling)
- Perform random / stage / 100% inspections on production line
- Stop production if defects are detected

2. Valve-Specific Inspection

- Check valve body, bonnet, trim parts, and assemblies
- Verify against:
- GAD (General Arrangement Drawing)
- QAP (Quality Assurance Plan)
- Inspect valve leakage, alignment, and assembly issues

3. Measurement & Testing

- Use precision tools:
- Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge
- Bore gauge, dial indicator, thread gauges
- CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Measure:
- Dimensions
- Tolerances
- Surface finish

4. Documentation & Reporting

- Record inspection results in reports (FAI, in-process, final)
- Maintain traceability (heat number, serial number)
- Update SAP / ERP systems
- Raise NCR (Non-Conformance Reports)

5. Quality Issue Handling

- Identify defects and root causes
- Coordinate with:
- Production team
- Quality engineers
- Purchase/incoming inspection
- Suggest corrective & preventive actions

6. Final Inspection & Testing

- Perform:
- Visual inspection
- Pressure / leak testing
- Cycle testing (for valves)
- Prepare products for:
- Customer inspection




- Third-party inspection (TPI)

Required Skills

Technical Skills

- Blueprint reading & GD&T; knowledge
- Knowledge of machining processes (CNC, grinding, turning)
- Familiarity with ISO/API standards
- Use of measuring instruments

Soft Skills

- High attention to detail

- Documentation accuracy

Qualifications

- Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–5 years experience in machine shop or valve manufacturing
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / API standards preferred

Work Workplace

- Shop floor / production line
- Standing work, shift-based
- Interaction with machinists, supervisors, QA team
