About the Client:

A rapid-growing automotive EV company, part of a leading business conglomerates. The Group has 29 businesses including ten listed Companies traded in NSE & BSE.

Role: Manager - Deputy Manager-Battery Pack

Experience: 10+ Years

Location: Chennai

Job Description:

1. Battery Pack Design & Testing: Designing the battery pack layout and architecture that optimizes space utilization, thermal management, weight distribution, and overall system efficiency to meet the specific requirements of electric vehicles and also carrying out the testing and validation.

2. Cell Selection and Configuration: Evaluating and selecting the appropriate lithium-ion battery cells and configuring them in series and parallel connections to achieve the desired voltage, capacity, and power output for the electric vehicle.

3. Safety and Reliability: Ensuring that the battery pack design incorporates robust safety features and protective measures to prevent thermal runaway, overcharging, and other potential hazards. This includes designing effective cooling and thermal management systems to maintain the operating temperature within safe limits.

4. Electrical System Integration: Collaborating with electrical engineers to integrate the battery pack into the electric vehicle's overall electrical system, including the powertrain, energy management system,



charging infrastructure, and other components.

5. Performance Optimization: Optimizing the battery pack design for maximum energy density.

6. Compliance and Certification: Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications specific to electric vehicle battery packs, such as ISO 26262, UN38.3, and automotive safety standards.

7. Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, battery materials scientists, manufacturing engineers, and vehicle integration specialists, to ensure seamless integration of the battery pack into the electric vehicle.

8. Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with the latest advancements in lithium-ion battery technologies, EV industry trends, and safety standards to continuously improve the design and performance of battery packs for electric vehicles.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in designing and developing battery packs for electric vehicles

2. Deep understanding of battery cell technologies, including lithium-ion and emerging alternatives, and their implications for electric vehicle applications.

3. Proficiency in CAD and CAE software for battery pack design, analysis, and simulation
