Job Title: Clinical Data & Business Analyst (Clinical Operations Analytics)

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Clinical Data & Business Analysts with strong domain expertise in Pharmaceutical Clinical Operations. This role is ideal for professionals who can bridge business requirements with technical implementation by translating analytical product designs into detailed data specifications for engineering teams.

We are seeking professionals who combine strong Clinical Operations domain expertise with Business Analysis and Data Analysis capabilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with clinical stakeholders, understanding complex healthcare data, defining business logic, and enabling engineering teams through detailed technical specifications.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product, Clinical Operations stakeholders, and Data Engineering teams to define end-to-end data requirements, ensuring accurate mapping between business metrics, data models, and technical implementation. This is not a traditional Data Analyst or Business Analyst role. We are seeking professionals with hands-on experience in Clinical Operations analytics who possess a strong understanding of clinical data, portfolio management, and study execution processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate product prototypes and business requirements into detailed functional and technical data specifications.
- Define end-to-end mapping between:

- Business metrics

- Business rules

- Source systems

- Database tables and attributes

- SQL-based calculations and transformation logic

- Act as the primary liaison between Product, Clinical Operations stakeholders, and Data Engineering teams.




- Perform data discovery and understand data models across multiple clinical data sources.
- Develop comprehensive documentation that enables development teams to efficiently implement analytical solutions.
- Analyze new data sources and evaluate their suitability for business reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with technical teams to validate data quality, mappings, and business logic.
- Support the design and development of scalable clinical analytics solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

Domain Expertise:

- Strong experience in Clinical Operations Analytics within the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry.
- Experience supporting areas such as:

- Clinical Trial Operations

- Clinical Portfolio Analytics

- Project & Portfolio Management Analytics

- Study Planning Analytics.

- Hands-on experience working with:

- Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) data

- Clinical portfolio and project data

- Clinical operational performance metrics

- Familiarity with external clinical datasources such as:

- Citeline

- DQS

- Site Selection datasets

- Strong understanding of clinical trial lifecycle and operational processes.

Business Analysis:

- Ability to convert business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in data discovery and understanding unfamiliar datasets.
- Ability to define business rules and data mapping with minimal supervision.




- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Technical Skills:

- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries.
- Valuable understanding of relational database concepts and database schemas.
- Experience working with Databricks for SQL development and data exploration.
- Ability to understand technical data models and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.

Preferred Experience

- Experience supporting or delivering analytics solutions involving:

- Clinical Trial Analytics

- Clinical Operations Reporting

- Portfolio & Project Analytics

- Clinical Data Platforms

- Enterprise Reporting and Business

- Intelligence initiatives within the Pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in LifeSciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
- Exposure to modern analytics platforms and cloud-based data ecosystems is an added advantage.
