Specific Contribution Expected from the Role:
- Defined enterprise Data Governance strategy in partnership with the CDO, establishing:
- Operating models
- Roles
- Workflows
- Tooling frameworks

- Evaluated and recommended metadata platforms (OpenMetadata vs. Alation) based on:

- Security
- Lineage
- Data quality
- Discovery needs for structured and unstructured data

- Designed governance integration across:

- S3
- Snowflake
- dbt
- Semantic layers
- AI/ML lifecycle ensuring end-to-end lineage and compliance.

- Developed a phased execution roadmap with TCO, aligning governance initiatives with business value and stakeholder priorities.

Job Description: Strategy & Vision:
- Partner with the CDO to define:
- Core objectives
- Vision for Data Governance

Operating Model Design:
- Define:
- People (Roles, Ownership, Stewardship)
- Processes (Workflows)
- Tools and governance frameworks

Tool Evaluation & Recommendation:
- Conduct rigorous technical and functional comparison between:
- OpenMetadata
- Alation

- Assess fit for PRA’s specific:





- Unstructured data security
- Metadata management
- Data Quality (DQ)
- Lineage
- Discovery needs

Architectural Integration:
- Design governance integration across:
- S3 (Structured and Unstructured data for PII handling)
- dbt
- Warehouse in Snowflake
- Sandbox definitions in Snowflake
- Semantic Layer (e.g., SSAS Cubes or AtScale)
- AI/ML Lifecycle including:
- Feature stores
- Model lineage
- RAG lineage for future Agentic AI use cases

Financial & Strategic Roadmap:
- Develop execution roadmap including:
- Phased rollout plan
- Resource requirements
- Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

Required Experience:
- 12+ years in Data Management
- 5+ years leading Enterprise Data Governance programs

Tool Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with modern metadata platforms
- Must be able to articulate trade-offs between:
- Alation (Enterprise / Market Leader)
- OpenMetadata
