Kafka Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Administrator to join our agile team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of our Kafka clusters. You will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our messaging infrastructure, supporting critical business applications.

Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and upgrade Kafka clusters and related components.
- Monitor Kafka cluster health, performance, and resource utilization.
- Implement and manage Kafka security, including authentication and authorization.
- Develop and maintain Kafka disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Optimize Kafka cluster performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient Kafka integration.
- Document Kafka architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Kafka features and best practices.

Qualifications:




- Proven experience as a Kafka Administrator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, concepts, and ecosystem (e.g., ZooKeeper, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams).
- Experience with Kafka installation, configuration, and tuning.
- Proficiency in monitoring Kafka clusters using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
