Chief Technical Officer (CTO) - Clear Water Dynamics
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka Reports to: President / Director Experience Required: 10 to 15 years
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on technical leader to serve as our Chief Technical Officer (CTO). This is a unique chance for an experienced water resource engineer who wants to combine strategic leadership with deep technical involvement. You will take direct responsibility for all day-to-day technical work and deliverables, implement rigorous quality assurance processes, and actively mentor junior staff to advance their skills. Key Responsibilities
- Take ultimate responsibility for all technical deliverables, personally reviewing and approving critical calculations, designs, and reports.
- Establish and enforce a robust QAQC framework, proactively identifying technical problem areas across all employee work.
- Conduct regular technical audits to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
Mentorship & Team Development
- Spend dedicated time teaching junior staff (Interns, Associate Engineers, Engineers) how to identify and fix technical errors.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring to advance team skills and build organizational capability.
- Conduct regular technical training sessions and design clinics.
Core Technical Domains
- Bring deep expertise in any 2 of following areas, with ability to cross-skill and apply expertise in other areas as well, taking responsibility for technical work either through direct execution or rigorous review:
- Hydrology – Hydrological assessments, rainfall-runoff modeling, water balance studies.
- Hydraulics – Pipe network analysis, open channel flow, pump station design.
- Hydrogeology – Groundwater modeling, aquifer analysis, well field design.
- WTP/STP – Water and sewage treatment plant design, process optimization.
- Stormwater Management – Drainage design, detention systems, LID solutions.
- Sanitary Sewer System – Sewer network design, lift stations, infiltration analysis.
- Rainwater Harvesting System – System design for harvesting, storage, and recharge.
- Flood Risk Assessment (1D/2D Modelling) – Flood modeling, hazard mapping, risk mitigation planning.
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the company's technology roadmap, driving innovation and digital transformation.
- Lead R&D; initiatives to develop proprietary tools and intellectual property.
- Represent the company as a technical authority with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: 10 to 15 years in water resource engineering, with significant hands-on technical involvement.
- Qualifications: Master's degree in Civil/Environmental/Water Resource Engineering from a premier institute.
- Technical Depth: Proven expertise across hydrology, hydraulics, hydrogeology, WTP/STP, stormwater management, sanitary sewer systems, rainwater harvesting, and flood risk modeling.
- Mentorship: A genuine passion for teaching and developing junior engineers.
- QAQC Mindset: Experience establishing and implementing quality assurance frameworks.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, EPANET, MIKE, GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Leadership: Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day technical involvement.
