Why this role exists:
The Head of Enterprise Planning is responsible for leading, delivering, and optimizing the cross-functional Enterprise Financial Planning cycle at Officeworks. This critical leadership role ensures the business maintains a clear, consolidated financial vision while managing short-to-medium-term cycles, including the annual budget and rolling forecasts. By driving the capital investment cycle and prioritizing resources toward strategic initiatives, this role ensures Officeworks achieves its long-term growth ambitions while maintaining rigorous financial governance.

In this role you will:
Enterprise Strategy & Corporate Planning
- Lead the Officeworks Enterprise Growth Plan, maintaining a robust financial forecast that aligns with functional strategies.
- Support the annual planning process by consolidating vision plans, category business plans, and functional strategies into a holistic corporate plan.
- Leverage and gain socialized alignment on the Enterprise Growth plan for formal submissions to Wesfarmers.
Annual Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the cross-functional annual budget process, delivering on all Officeworks and Wesfarmers requirements across P&L;, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Prepare enterprise forecasts in partnership with business stakeholders, driving toward a sophisticated 18-month rolling forecast model.
- Direct analytical reporting by identifying key measurement drivers and reporting frameworks to provide clear business insights.
Capital Investment & Governance
- Drive the Capital Investment cycle, collaborating with partners to evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives through cost-benefit analysis.
- Co-ordinate post-implementation reviews to assess the success of major projects against their original financial deliverables.
- Prioritize investments during the budget process to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and the optimization of returns.
- Manage monthly capital expenditure reporting, providing detailed forecasts and analysis on spend versus budget.
Process Improvement & Team Leadership
- Optimize planning cycles by identifying and executing improvements in processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Foster a high-performance culture that is results-oriented and focused on best-practice financial planning and analysis.
- Lead and develop the planning team, sharing skills and capabilities to support long-term career development needs.
- Ensure financial management of new initiatives remains in line with company policy and compliance requirements.
Who you will be working with:
- Internal Delivery Teams: Finance Managers and Business Partners across the CFO function.
- Internal Partners: Officeworks Leadership Team (OLT), Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and various cross-functional business stakeholders.
- External Partners: Wesfarmers Group Accounting and other external stakeholders as required.

Qualifications and work experience:
Essential
- Education: CPA / CA Qualified.
- Experience: Minimum of 15+ years in commercial finance roles, with FP&A; experience being highly desirable.
- Leadership: Strong, collaborative experience in leading and developing people.
- Technical Skills: Excellent system and modelling skills, including proficiency in SAP, Business Warehouse, and Power BI.
- Competencies: Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the ability to convert complex inputs into concise insights.
Preferred
- Industry: Experience in the retail industry.
- Systems: Previous experience with OneStream is advantageous but not essential.
