L2 Network Engineer: Migration & Deployment
Objective: To maintain operational integrity and execute network changes and migrations with high
precision during scheduled maintenance windows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operations & Troubleshooting: Monitor MPLS network health; perform L2
troubleshooting for MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, BGP, and OSPF/ISIS.
• Deployment & Migration: Execute site commissioning/decommissioning and
perform logical migrations of customer services between hardware platforms.
• Maintenance Window (MW) Execution: Carry out configuration changes and
hardware replacements during night-time/early-morning maintenance windows. Follow detailed
Method of Procedures (MOPs) to ensure zero-touch service impact.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all changes, update network topology
diagrams, and provide comprehensive shift-handover reports to ensure continuity.
Required Skills:
• 3–5 years of experience in service provider environments.
• Proficiency in Cisco IOS-XR, MPLS, BGP, and QoS.
• Ability to work in rotating shifts and handle high-pressure environments during
night-time cutovers.
