Position: Production Supervisor

Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 2 Years
Industry Preference: Fabrication / Heavy Engineering / Structural Steel Manufacturing

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily production activities, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and cost efficiency. The role involves managing shop floor manpower, coordinating with cross-functional departments, and ensuring smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise day-to-day fabrication shop floor activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the production plan.
- Allocate work to operators, welders, fitters, and helpers.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and machine utilization.
- Ensure adherence to welding procedures, fabrication drawings, and work instructions.
- Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments.
- Monitor material availability before starting production.
- Ensure implementation of 5S and good housekeeping practices.
- Maintain production reports, shift reports, and daily work records.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and use of PPE.




- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Train and guide shop floor employees to improve productivity and quality.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and material wastage.
- Ensure preventive maintenance coordination for production equipment.
- Support continuous improvement and Kaizen activities.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of fabrication processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication standards.
- Leadership and manpower handling skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel & MS Word).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Positive communication and coordination skills.
