Job Description – EXIM Officer

Position Summary

The EXIM Officer is responsible for managing import and export documentation, customs clearance, shipping coordination, DGFT compliance, and ensuring timely movement of materials while complying with statutory and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and verify import and export documentation (Invoice, Packing List, Shipping Bill, Bill of Entry, BL/AWB, COO, etc.).
- Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, and customs authorities.
- Ensure timely customs clearance of import and export shipments.
- Manage DGFT-related activities including IEC, Advance Authorization, EPCG, and other export incentive schemes (if applicable).
- Coordinate with production, stores, purchase, finance, and logistics teams for shipment planning.
- Monitor shipment schedules and ensure on-time dispatch and delivery.
- Track export and import consignments until final delivery.
- Maintain statutory compliance related to Customs, GST, FEMA, and Foreign Trade Policy.
- Handle LC, Bank Documentation, Shipping Documents, and export payment follow-up.
- Maintain accurate EXIM records, reports, and documentation.




- Coordinate with overseas customers and suppliers regarding shipment status and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
- Certification in Export-Import Management is an added advantage.

Experience

- 3–6 years of experience in Export-Import operations, preferably in a manufacturing Metal (Copper ) industry.

Required Skills

- Robust knowledge of Import & Export documentation.
- Experience with Customs clearance and DGFT procedures.
- Knowledge of GST related to exports and imports.
- Familiarity with INCOTERMS and international shipping practices.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple shipments.
