A mechanical designer creates and develops mechanical systems, components, and products by designing, creating technical drawings, and building prototypes
Core responsibilities
- Design and develop: Create and develop mechanical systems, components, and products like machines, tools, and sensors.
- Technical documentation: Produce detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials (BOMs) using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including engineers, manufacturing, and project management, to ensure designs meet all requirements and standards.
- Testing and validation: Create and test prototypes, analyze performance data, and perform simulations to validate designs.
- Problem-solving:
Analyze and solve complex engineering problems that arise during the design and manufacturing phases.
