Optical Bonding Engineer (Mechanical)

Job Responsibilities

- Develop detailed 3D models of automotive components like engines, transmissions, chassis, or body parts using Creo.
- Assemble individual parts into larger systems or vehicle modules within the software.
- Refine designs for manufacturability and performance using Creo's advanced tools like Behavioural Modelling.
- Use Creo to create and visualize concept designs for automotive components, incorporating customer or project requirements.
- Utilize Creo's built-in FEA and CFD tools to simulate stress, thermal, and agile conditions on components to ensure reliability and performance.
- Create complex sheet metal parts or freeform surfaces, which are crucial for designing body panels, enclosures, or aerodynamic components.
- Generate detailed 2D drawings with dimensions, GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and annotations for manufacturing.

Technical Details

- Product design and development activities, ensuring compliance with industry methodologies, including design calculations, design of experiments (DOE), and design for manufacturing (DFM) techniques.
- Implement Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;) to enhance precision and manufacturability.
- Conduct DFMEA & Design for Reliability (DFR) analysis to ensure product robustness.
- Collaborate with suppliers for design reviews and finalization to optimize manufacturing feasibility.
- Drive optical component design & development, particularly for backlight modules in TFT/LCD displays.
- Develop and implement optical bonding technology for enhanced display performance.
- Apply problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques for LCD/TFT illumination issues.
- Oversee tolerance stack-up analysis for ensuring part compatibility and assembly precision.
