Urgently required for Principal
The Principal is the head of the Nursing College and is responsible for providing academic leadership, administrative management, regulatory compliance, faculty development, student welfare, and the overall growth of the institution. The Principal shall ensure that the college operates in accordance with the norms and guidelines prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), State Nursing Council, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), and other applicable statutory authorities.
Key Responsibilities Academic Administration
- Plan, organize, and supervise all academic activities of the college.
- Ensure effective implementation of the curriculum prescribed by the university and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and monitor the academic calendar, teaching schedules, and examination activities.
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and evaluation.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the regulations of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), State Nursing Council, MUHS, and other statutory authorities.
- Coordinate inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
- Maintain all statutory records, registers, and documentation required by regulatory agencies.
- Ensure timely submission of reports and compliance documents.
Faculty Management
- Recruit, guide, mentor, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Allocate teaching workloads and departmental responsibilities.
- Organize faculty development programs, workshops, seminars, and continuing education activities.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations.
Student Administration
- Oversee student admissions in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Promote student discipline, welfare, mentoring, counseling, and grievance redressal.
- Encourage participation in academic, cultural, sports, research, and community outreach activities.
- Ensure effective clinical training and practical exposure for students.
Clinical Coordination
- Coordinate with affiliated hospitals and healthcare institutions for clinical postings.
- Monitor clinical training programs and ensure compliance with clinical education requirements.
- Maintain effective relationships with hospital authorities.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Prepare departmental budgets and monitor institutional expenditures.
- Ensure proper utilization of infrastructure, laboratories, library, hostels, and other facilities.
- Supervise procurement of equipment, books, laboratory materials, and teaching aids.
- Implement institutional policies and administrative procedures.
Quality Assurance
- Promote quality improvement initiatives in teaching, research, and administration.
- Lead NAAC, NABH (where applicable), and other accreditation-related activities.
- Encourage innovation, research, publications, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Stakeholder Relations
- Represent the institution before government departments, universities, regulatory bodies, and professional organizations.
- Maintain cordial relationships with parents, alumni, hospitals, and industry partners.
- Build collaborations with healthcare institutions for academic and research activities.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. Nursing in any recognized specialty.
- Ph.D. in Nursing is preferred (or as prescribed by the applicable regulatory authority).
- Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN & RM) with the State Nursing Council.
- Qualifications must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), State Nursing Council, and the affiliated university.
Experience
- Minimum 9 years of experience as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the affiliated university for the position of Principal.
- Demonstrated experience in academic administration, faculty management, and institutional leadership.
- Experience in regulatory inspections, accreditation, and quality assurance is desirable.
