Job Summary

The Deputy Nursing Superintendent (DNS) assists the Nursing Superintendent in managing and supervising nursing services across the hospital. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality patient care, nursing administration, staff management, NABH compliance, and efficient day-to-day nursing operations. The DNS also acts on behalf of the Nursing Superintendent when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the overall administration and supervision of nursing services.
- Ensure delivery of protected, high-quality, and patient-centered nursing care.
- Supervise Assistant Nursing Superintendents, Ward In-charges, and nursing staff.
- Prepare and monitor nursing duty rosters, staffing, and leave management.
- Conduct regular ward rounds and nursing audits.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, infection control protocols, and hospital policies.
- Coordinate recruitment, orientation, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
- Monitor nursing documentation,



patient safety indicators, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with consultants, medical officers, and other departments for seamless patient care.
- Maintain records, reports, and nursing quality indicators.
- Participate in hospital committees and emergency response activities.
- Handle patient and attendant grievances related to nursing services.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Nursing Superintendent or Hospital Management.

Qualification

- M.Sc. Nursing (Preferred) / B.Sc. Nursing
- Valid State Nursing Council Registration

Experience

- Minimum 8 years of clinical nursing experience.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role such as Assistant Nursing Superintendent (ANS), Nursing Supervisor, or equivalent.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be preferred.
