Job Description – Software Test Engineer (Manual + Automation)

Job Title: Software Test Engineer (Manual & Automation)
Experience Range: 6+ Years

Must-Have Skills

- Experience: 6+ years of experience in Manual and Automation Testing.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver (Java/.NET).
- Strong experience with Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Experience using Katalon Studio.
- Strong programming skills in Java with exposure to TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks using:
- TestNG / JUnit
- Page Object Model (POM)
- Data-Driven Framework
- Hybrid Framework
- Keyword-Driven Framework

- Strong manual testing expertise in:

- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- Integration Testing
- Smoke Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- End-to-End Testing

- Experience testing:

- Enterprise Web Applications
- Distributed Systems
- eCommerce Applications
- REST/SOAP Web Services
- Data & Application Integration
- SOA-based Solutions

- API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Database testing and SQL validation.
- Experience with defect and test management tools:

- JIRA
- Azure DevOps
- TestRail

- Version control using Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using:

- Jenkins
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub Actions
- Harness

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and defect management skills.
- Experience preparing and managing test data across multiple environments.
- Ability to coordinate testing activities across onshore and offshore teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Positive-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with AWS or Azure cloud environments.




- Performance testing using JMeter.
- Knowledge of:
- Accessibility Testing
- Cross-Browser Testing
- Responsive Testing

- Front-end knowledge:

- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
- Dropzone.js
- Gulp

- Experience in Continuous Quality Engineering initiatives.
- Exposure to release readiness reporting and quality metrics.
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements to create effective test strategies.
- Develop test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases.
- Estimate testing effort and identify testing risks.
- Execute manual and automated test cases.
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks and scripts.
- Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, System, API, UI, and End-to-End testing.
- Prepare and validate test data across environments.
- Log, track, verify, and resolve defects with development teams.
- Execute REST API and backend validation testing.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor testing progress and communicate quality metrics and release readiness.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, and Production Support teams.
- Drive test process improvements and automation initiatives to improve software quality.
