Purchase Manager – Cocopeat Procurement & Supplier DevelopmentJob Overview

M2Balu Export is looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to lead the procurement of raw materials for our cocopeat manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of cocopeat quality, supplier management, procurement, and cost negotiation.

This role involves regular visits to supplier factories to evaluate manufacturing practices, inspect product quality, negotiate pricing, and ensure a reliable supply of quality raw materials. The Purchase Manager will work closely with the Production and Quality teams to ensure materials meet M2B's quality standards before procurement.

Key Responsibilities

- Procure high-quality cocopeat, coco chips, coir fibre, and other raw materials from approved suppliers.
- Identify, develop, and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers.
- Visit supplier factories regularly to inspect production processes and assess manufacturing capabilities.
- Evaluate the quality of raw materials before purchase, including moisture, fibre content, sand content, impurities, maturity, colour, and overall consistency.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department to ensure purchased materials meet M2B's quality specifications.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement supplier evaluation and rating systems.
- Ensure timely procurement to support uninterrupted production.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Finance, and Logistics departments.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory reports.
- Develop alternative suppliers to reduce procurement risks.




- Monitor market prices and industry trends to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Resolve supplier quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in the cocopeat, coir, agriculture, or export manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
