Backend Developer

A full time Java Backend / Integration developer required at our office in Mumbai.

Requirements

- B.Tech./ B.E / MCA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or Mathematics, from Tier-1 universities (IIT, BITS-Pilani, NITs and IIITs) preferred.
- 5+ years of object oriented programming Algorithmic optimizations, Multithreading etc.
- 4+ years of experience developing software with Java EE.
- Expertise with Client/Server architecture, HTTP Protocols, WS, REST/SOAP, JSON, XML, and web-standards.
- Deep understanding of various caching and optimization techniques and frameworks.
- Solid relational database background with an emphasis on MySQL.
- Experience with highly scalable, distributed, opensource (NoSQL) systems that support needs such as BigQuery, RedShift, etc.
- Experience with cloud development, deployment and hosting (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Experience in software development lifecycle, including analysis, software development, installation, integration, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Experience in the social networking, e-commerce domains would be a bonus.

- Work with core founding team to create mobile products focused on social and e-commerce industries.
- Design and code programs; create and run unit tests; use insights gained to produce necessary design and code revisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Optimize queries, chaining and caching at various levels to improve the application performance.
- Design and develop front-end interfaces, underlying APIs, and backend systems across a number of programming languages with focus on Java, RESTful Services, DB (NoSQL) frameworks and JavaScript.
- Integrate with various third party data sources using Scrapping, ERP and Services Integration.
- Make disciplined use of source control and bug tracking systems.
- Participate in software code reviews to ensure the creation of high-quality, robust code by all team members.
- Eagerly participate in mentoring and skills transfer to junior members of the team.
