Sr. Data Engineer

Design and build robust data pipelines and analytical workflows using GoLang, Python, and BigQuery on Google Cloud. Work across relational and NoSQL systems, apply statistical analysis, and create compelling visualisations with Grafana and Tableau.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
- Work with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow to process and transform large datasets.
- Develop data models and warehouse schemas that support business intelligence and analytics.
- Build data visualisation dashboards using Grafana and Tableau for operational and executive reporting.
- Apply statistical methods to validate data quality, detect anomalies, and support analytical use cases.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define data contracts and integration patterns.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5 to 8 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as GoLang and Python for data manipulation and transformation.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and NoSQL — familiar with data warehousing architectures.
- Good experience in database query languages like SQL.
- Experience with BigQuery and Google Cloud Console.
- Experience with data visualisation tools like Grafana and Tableau.
- Ability to analyse data sources, understand data relationships, and develop effective data strategies.




- Good applied statistical and mathematical skills — statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.
- Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer.
- Familiarity with streaming data platforms (Pub/Sub, Kafka).
- Background in ML data pipelines or feature engineering.
- Prior experience in a product or platform engineering environment.
