Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution

- Prepare weekly and monthly production schedules aligned with project delivery timelines.
- Plan and sequence fabrication activities including cutting, rolling, welding, NDT, hydro testing, and painting to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor job-wise production progress and proactively address delays.
- Coordinate with the design and engineering teams for drawing releases and BOM clarifications.

Pressure Vessel Fabrication

- Supervise fabrication activities in accordance with ASME Section VIII and IBR requirements.
- Ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, welding procedures, joint preparation, and welder qualifications.
- Coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, DPT), hydro testing, and stage inspections with QA/QC teams.
- Liaise with third-party inspection agencies and statutory authorities such as IBR and PESO.

Instrumentation & Skid Integration

- Supervise installation of instrumentation including pressure and temperature transmitters, valves, tubing, and control panels.
- Coordinate with Instrumentation and Electrical teams for panel wiring, junction box termination, and loop checking.
- Ensure instrument installation complies with P&IDs; and project specifications.

Procurement Planning

- Prepare Material Requirement Plans (MRP) based on production schedules.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of plates, pipes, fittings, instruments, and bought-out items.
- Monitor long lead-time materials and maintain buffer stock for critical components.
- Assist in evaluating fabrication subcontractors for rolling, machining, and other outsourced operations.





Shop Floor & Workforce Management

- Supervise welders, fabricators, fitters, helpers, and contract labour.
- Allocate manpower according to production priorities and workforce capabilities.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, PPE usage, hot work permits, and lifting practices.
- Monitor labour productivity, attendance, and shop floor discipline.
- Coordinate with HR/Admin regarding contract labour compliance, including PF and ESI documentation where applicable.

Documentation & Quality

- Maintain production records including job cards, welding logs, inspection reports, and QAP documents.
- Support preparation of QC dossiers, manufacturing record books, and customer handover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

Required Skills

- Solid knowledge of pressure vessel fabrication and skid manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ASME, IBR, welding standards, and fabrication practices.
- Familiarity with SMAW, GTAW, and SAW welding processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs;, and fabrication layouts.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and ERP systems.
- Excellent planning, coordination, problem-solving, and team management skills.
- Strong shop floor leadership with the ability to manage multiple production activities simultaneously.
