A. Incoming Quality Inspection

- Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and bought-out items as per specifications.
- Verify material certificates, inspection reports, and supplier documents.
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspection using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Identify and report non-conforming materials.

B. In-Process Quality Inspection

- Perform inspection at various stages of production.
- Verify dimensions and specifications against engineering drawings.
- Monitor process parameters and quality requirements.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of rejected / non-conforming components.
- Support production teams in resolving quality-related issues.

C. Final Inspection

- Conduct final inspection of finished components.
- Verify dimensions, appearance, workmanship, and other specified requirements.
- Ensure inspection reports are completed accurately before product release.
- Support preparation of final inspection and dispatch documentation.

D. Measuring Instruments

- Use and handle instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Gauge
- Profile Projector / CMM, where applicable
- Ensure measuring instruments are within calibration validity.
- Report any damaged or suspected measuring equipment.

E. Drawing & Specification Review

- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Interpret dimensional tolerances, GD&T;, surface finish, and other drawing requirements.
- Verify components against approved drawings and specifications.

F. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

- Identify quality defects and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).




- Assist in root-cause analysis of defects.
- Support corrective and preventive action activities.
- Follow up on corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.
- Maintain records of rejection, rework, and quality issues.

G. Quality Documentation

- Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
- Update daily inspection records.
- Maintain rejection / rework reports.
- Support preparation of quality-related MIS reports.
- Maintain traceability records for materials and components.
- Ensure quality documents are properly filed and controlled.

H. Quality System Support

- Follow company Quality Management System procedures.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Follow applicable customer requirements and quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining 5S and workplace quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality improvement activities.

4. Required Skills

- Good knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensional inspection.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T;.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection methods.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as:
- CNC machining
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Pressing / bending
- Welding
- Assembly




- Basic knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, CAPA and NCR.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to identify defects and support problem-solving activities.

5. Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:

- Mechanical Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechatronics / related engineering discipline

6. Experience

0–2 years of experience in Quality / Inspection in a manufacturing industry.

Freshers with valuable knowledge of engineering drawings, measuring instruments, and basic quality concepts may also be considered.
