Roles & Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in Psychology, including Cognitive Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Research Methodology, and related areas.
- Develop, revise, and enhance curriculum in accordance with UGC Regulations, NEP 2020, and emerging developments in the discipline.
- Guide and supervise postgraduate dissertations and Ph.D. scholars as per UGC norms.
- Publish quality research papers in UGC CARE-listed, Scopus, or Web of Science-indexed journals.
- Undertake funded research projects, consultancy, and interdisciplinary research initiatives.
- Contribute to curriculum development, Board of Studies, academic committees, IQAC, NAAC/NBA accreditation activities, and other institutional initiatives.
- Organize and participate in seminars, conferences, workshops, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), extension activities, and outreach programmes.
- Mentor students in academic progression, research, internships, counselling practices, and career development.
- Perform academic, examination, administrative, and other responsibilities assigned by the University from time to time.
Eligibility Criteria (As per UGC Norms) Associate Professor
- Ph.D. in Psychology is mandatory from a recognized University, and the Ph.D. degree must have been awarded at least two (02) years prior to the date of application.
- Master's Degree in Psychology from a recognized University.
- A minimum of eight (08) years of teaching and/or research experience in a University, College, or Accredited Research Institution.
- Evidence of high-quality research publications in peer-reviewed journals, as prescribed under the latest UGC Regulations.
- Fulfilment of the Academic/Research Score requirements as specified by the UGC for the post of Associate Professor.
- Experience in guiding research scholars and involvement in funded research projects, consultancy, or academic administration will be an added advantage.
Desirable Skills & Competencies
- Solid domain knowledge across various branches of Psychology.
- Expertise in psychological assessment, research methodology, psychometrics, and statistical analysis tools.
- Research orientation with interdisciplinary and evidence-based approaches.
- Excellent teaching, communication, mentoring, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods and relevant software such as SPSS, R, or similar analytical tools.
- Ability to contribute to institutional development, accreditation processes, curriculum innovation, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Commitment to academic excellence, ethical practices, student-centric learning, and continuous professional development.
