Job Title: Utility Operator

Location: Mundra, Gujarat

Reports To: Utility Shift In-charge / Engineering Manager

Job Summary

The Utility Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining utility systems to ensure uninterrupted support for manufacturing operations. The role includes safe operation of boilers, water treatment systems, air compressors, cooling systems, and other utility equipment while complying with SOPs, GMP, and EHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor utility equipment including:
- Boilers and steam distribution systems
- RO and DM water plants
- Cooling towers and chilling plants
- Air compressors and compressed air systems
- Water pumps and dehumidifiers
- Record utility parameters in shift logbooks and maintain operational records.
- Perform routine inspections, start-up, shutdown, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Carry out chemical dosing for RO, DM, and cooling tower systems as per SOP.
- Ensure continuous supply of steam, compressed air, chilled water, and treated water to production.




- Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities immediately.
- Maintain housekeeping of utility areas and ensure equipment cleanliness.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams during breakdowns and planned shutdowns.
- Follow GMP, EHS, and statutory safety guidelines during operations.

Qualifications

- ITI (Fitter/Boiler Attendant/Mechanical/Electrical) or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering.
- Boiler Attendant Certificate or Boiler Competency Certificate is preferred for boiler operations.
- 3–5 years of experience in utility operations in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industry.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of utility equipment and systems.
- Understanding of RO/DM plant operation and water treatment.
- Basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
- Ability to read gauges, meters, and operating parameters.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
