JD – Backstage Lead Developer
Loaction: Bangalore
Experience
- 8–12 years overall experience
- 2+ years in Backstage / Developer Portal (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Backstage OSS platform development and backend architecture
- Design & develop backend services (Node.js, TypeScript)
- Build & customize Backstage plugins (10–12 integrations)
- Integrate with enterprise tools:
- GitLab, Artifactory
- IBM ELM (EWM, ETM)
- Collibra (good to have)
- Develop service catalog, scoring, discovery, APIs
- Ensure SAML SSO, RBAC, and security compliance
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Security, Architect
- Drive technical delivery within fixed timeline (21 weeks)
- Deployment and Implementation
Must-Have Skills
- Backstage OSS (hands-on)
- Node.js + TypeScript
- Backend/API development
- Plugin development & integrations
Valuable-to-Have
- Azure / Cloud experience
- Kubernetes, CI/CD
- IBM ELM (EWM/ETM) exposure
Soft Skills
- Strong technical leadership
- Stakeholder communication
- Experience in fixed price / milestone-driven delivery
Team Context
- Part of 10-member team (Architect, Dev, QA, DevOps, Security, PM)
- Working on Internal Developer Portal (Backstage-based)
