Job Summary

The Estimate & Costing / BOQ Expert is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), project budgets, and material take-offs for modular, customized, institutional, commercial, and residential furniture projects. The role requires a thorough understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, hardware, finishes, and installation requirements to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Costing

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for modular and customized furniture projects.
- Analyze architectural drawings, interior layouts, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Calculate material quantities including plywood, MDF, particle board, laminates, veneers, solid wood, acrylic, glass, metal, and hardware.
- Estimate manufacturing, polishing, upholstery, packaging, transportation, and installation costs.
- Prepare project-wise budgets and cost sheets.

BOQ Preparation

- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from architectural and interior drawings.
- Generate quantity take-offs for furniture, fixtures, and joinery works.
- Ensure BOQs comply with project specifications and tender requirements.
- Revise BOQs based on design changes and site modifications.

Tender & Quotation Management

- Prepare technical and commercial quotations.
- Review RFQs, tenders, and bid documents.
- Coordinate with procurement for vendor quotations.
- Compare supplier quotations and prepare comparative statements.
- Assist management in bid submissions.

Cost Analysis

- Monitor project costs against estimated budgets.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization.




- Analyze material wastage and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Maintain updated cost databases for materials, hardware, accessories, labor, and subcontractors.

Coordination

- Coordinate with the Design, Production, Procurement, Sales, and Project teams.
- Work closely with factory teams for manufacturing feasibility.
- Support project execution by providing updated BOQs and revised estimates.

Documentation

- Maintain estimation records and costing databases.
- Prepare cost reports and management summaries.
- Ensure proper documentation for approvals and audits.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing.
- Excellent understanding of wood-based products and furniture materials.
- Knowledge of furniture hardware, accessories, fittings, and finishing systems.
- Ability to read architectural, interior, and furniture drawings.
- Solid analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial understanding.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.

Software Knowledge

- Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- SketchUp (Preferred)
- ERP Software (Preferred)
- BOQ & Estimation Software
- Basic knowledge of Excel formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP,



and cost analysis tools.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Furniture Design, Wood Technology, or a related field.

Experience

- 3-5 years of experience in estimation, costing, and BOQ preparation within the furniture, interior fit-out, modular furniture, or woodworking industry.
- Experience handling commercial, corporate, institutional, hospitality, retail, and residential furniture projects is preferred.

Compensation

Salary shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, technical expertise, leadership capability, overall responsibility and as per the industry norms.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
