JOB DESCRIPTION – INJECTION MOULD TECHNICIAN

Department: Production / Moulding
Experience: 2 to 5 Years
Location: Chennai

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Injection Mould Setter with 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in plastic injection moulding. The candidate should have strong knowledge of mould setting, machine operations, and plastic materials to ensure smooth production and quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up and install injection moulds on moulding machines as per production requirements
- Perform mould changing, alignment, and clamping activities
- Ensure proper connection of water lines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Adjust machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) for optimal production
- Conduct trial runs and ensure defect-free production
- Troubleshoot moulding defects such as short shot, flash, burn marks, sink marks, etc.
- Maintain proper documentation of machine settings and production data
- Coordinate with quality and maintenance teams for continuous improvement




- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean working workplace

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of plastic materials and injection moulding process
- Experience in handling different types of moulds (single cavity, multi-cavity, hot runner, etc.)
- Ability to set and operate injection moulding machines independently
- Basic understanding of mould drawings and technical specifications
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of production and quality standards

Qualification:

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field
- Relevant experience in plastic injection moulding industry

Preferred:

- Experience in automotive / electrical / medical plastic components
- Basic maintenance knowledge of moulding machines

Note: Plastic injection moulding experience is mandatory.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
