Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.

Experience - 1-3 years

A hospital physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients with movement dysfunction or physical impairments to restore mobility, strength, and function. They develop personalized rehabilitation plans, utilize manual therapy/exercises, and work within multidisciplinary teams in acute or rehab settings to facilitate patient recovery, improve safety, and prevent injury.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Assessment & Diagnosis: Conducting comprehensive physical assessments of patients to identify mobility limitations, musculoskeletal issues, or neurological impairment.
- Treatment Planning & Execution: Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans, including exercises, gait training, manual therapy, and electrical stimulation (e.g., TENS).
- Acute Care & Mobility: Assisting patients with early mobilization, such as getting out of bed, walking,



and using mobility aids (canes, walkers) post-surgery or illness.
- Respiratory Care: Providing chest physiotherapy, including manual techniques or, in some cases, assistance with machines, to help patients clear secretions, especially in ICUs.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Working with doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists to manage patient care and discuss treatment progress.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress, ensuring compliance with hospital standards.
- Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about secure movement, injury prevention, and home exercises.
