Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, dependable, and safety-conscious Plant Site Supervisor to oversee our daily biomass processing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end production of biomass pellets and biochar, utilizing a pellet-making machine and a pyrolyser unit.

You will directly manage a small team of 3 laborers, ensuring efficient feedstock preparation, smooth machinery operation, quality control of finished products, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Production Management

- Machinery Operation: Oversee the daily setup, operation, and basic maintenance of the pellet-making machine and the pyrolyser.
- Feedstock Management: Monitor and manage incoming biomass feedstock (sorting, drying, and ensuring proper moisture levels for optimal pelletization).
- Production Output: Meet daily and weekly production targets for high-quality pellets and biochar.
- Inventory Control: Track raw materials and manage the bagging, storage, and dispatch of finished products (pellets and biochar).

2. Team Leadership & Supervision

- Supervise Personnel: Direct, motivate, and manage a team of 3 plant laborers.
- Task Assignment: Allocate daily tasks (e.g., loading feedstock, operating bagging machines, clearing debris) to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Training: Train laborers on safe material handling, efficient tool usage, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

3. Maintenance, Safety, & Compliance





- Routine Maintenance: Perform and supervise basic preventive maintenance (greasing, cleaning, clearing jams) on the pyrolyser and pellet mill to minimize downtime.
- Safety Enforcement: Ensure all team members wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow strict safety guidelines, especially around high-temperature pyrolysis equipment.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free plant environment.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, or processing plant environment. Experience operating pellet mills, pyrolysers, briquette machines, or similar thermal/mechanical processing equipment is highly desirable.
- Leadership: Proven ability to supervise, lead, and work alongside a small team of laborers.
- Technical Aptitude: Mechanically inclined; ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a physical plant environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs if necessary.
- Communication: Clear verbal communication skills to effectively direct laborers and report production metrics to upper management.
