Job Purpose

To prepare and cook daily meals for 30–40 employees, ensuring hygienic food preparation, timely service, and maintenance of quality and cleanliness standards in the canteen.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner daily for 30–40 employees as per the planned menu.
- Plan the daily/weekly menu in coordination with the canteen supervisor, ensuring variety and balanced meals.
- Ensure food is cooked hygienically, on time, and served at the correct temperature.
- Estimate and requisition raw materials (vegetables, grains, spices, oil, etc.) based on headcount, avoiding wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, and storage areas as per hygiene standards.
- Store food items and raw materials properly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Follow food safety practices (FSSAI/food hygiene norms) during preparation, cooking, and serving.
- Coordinate with helpers/kitchen staff for cutting, cleaning, and serving tasks.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of kitchen waste.




- Report any equipment issues (gas, stove, utensils) to the supervisor for timely repair.
- Maintain stock records of groceries/provisions and inform supervisor for timely replenishment.
- Adhere to special dietary requirements or requests (e.g., festival meals, special diets) as instructed.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Valuable cooking skills, especially in bulk/mass cooking for 30–40 people.
- Knowledge of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Ability to manage time effectively to serve meals on schedule.
- Basic understanding of quantity estimation and cost control.
- Cleanliness, punctuality, and reliability.

Qualification & Experience

- Education: No formal education required; basic literacy preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a cook, preferably in an industrial canteen, hostel, or catering setup handling bulk cooking.

Other Requirements

- Willingness to work in shifts, including early morning hours if required.
- Physically fit to handle bulk cooking and standing for long hours.
- Good personal hygiene habits.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
