We’re Hiring: Head – Finance & Accounts (Hands-On Team Lead)

About the Role

Vernive is a fast-growing jewellery and e-commerce group operating across India, the UK, Australia and Germany, with further global expansion underway. We are looking for a hands-on Head of Finance & Accounts to lead our small finance team, review and own the group’s accounting, compliance, controls and reporting — and to personally step in and cover the India and foreign accounts whenever the team is unavailable. This is a working leadership role suited either to a CA ready to take ownership, or to an experienced graduate accountant who has led a team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day finance & accounts team across all group entities; allocate, review and sign off the team’s work and run daily stand-ups.
- Act as the trained backup for the India Accountant and the Foreign-Accounts executive — step in and personally complete their India / UK / Australia / Germany work whenever they are unavailable, with no missed deadlines.
- Own the Finance-Head responsibilities: oversight, month-end close, internal controls, reconciliations, ITC/VAT/BAS review, MIS and finalisation support.
- Govern multi-country statutory & tax compliance — GST/TDS (India), VAT (UK), GST/BAS (Australia), Germany as set up — with zero penalties.
- Coordinate with external consultants and accounting firms in India, the UK and Germany for timely, accurate filings and audits.
- Oversee export/FX items (FX gain/loss, BRC/IRM, exchange-gain, DIL/customs) in coordination with the export desk.




- Deliver the monthly consolidated MIS with analysis and decision support to management.
- Drive automation, SOP standardisation and process improvement (target ≥ 1 improvement per quarter) and support current-entity set-up (e.g. Germany).

Who We’re Looking For

- Either a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1-2 year experienc, or a B.Com / M.Com graduate with 8–10 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Prior experience managing / supervising a small accounts team is required.
- Hands-on, end-to-end accounting ability — able to perform both India accounting & statutory compliance and foreign-entity (UK/Australia) bookkeeping, so as to cover team members.
- Working knowledge of Tally and QuickBooks / Xero (or ability to ramp quickly); strong Excel; GST/TDS, with awareness of UK VAT / Australia BAS and export documentation.
- A responsible, ownership-driven professional with a strong automation & continuous-improvement mindset, comfortable driving change.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with consultants and vendors across countries; jewellery / e-commerce / export / multi-entity exposure preferred.
