1. JOB TITLE & SUMMARY

Position

Assistant Professor — Food Production (Hotel Management)

2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Qualification

- Minimum: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Hospitality & Hotel Administration / Hotel Management or equivalent degree from a recognised university, with a specialisation or strong focus in Food Production / Culinary Arts.
- Preferred: Master of Science (M.Sc.) / Master of Hotel Management (MHM) or equivalent postgraduate qualification with specialisation in Food Production, Culinary Science, or a related discipline.
- Candidates holding a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from a reputed culinary institute (e.g., IHM, NCHM&CT;, or equivalent) with a strong academic record will also be considered.

Eligibility

· NET/Ph.D

Experience

- 0–5 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate / postgraduate level in Hotel Management, OR equivalent professional experience as a Commis, DCDP, CDP, or Sous Chef in a 3-star or above classified hotel / reputed food-service establishment.
- Prior experience in curriculum design, kitchen lab management, or student mentoring in an academic setting will be an advantage.
- Freshers with outstanding academic credentials,



relevant culinary training, and a passion for teaching are encouraged to apply.

3. PREFERRED SKILLS

- Strong command over Bakery & Confectionery — bread production, pastry, chocolate work, sugar craft, and cake decoration.
- Effective classroom management skills with the ability to engage diverse student groups in both theory and practical settings.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for teaching — MS Office, Google Classroom, LMS platforms, and multimedia content creation for culinary demonstrations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and student counselling skills with a patient, supportive, and growth-oriented mentoring approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an academic department, contribute to accreditation exercises (NAAC/NBA), and adapt to evolving institutional priorities.
