Summary:
We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator/Engineer with 4+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL database administration, performance tuning, cloud deployments, backup & recovery, and high availability solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and experience managing production-grade PostgreSQL environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases on cloud platforms like AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
- Monitor database health, performance, availability, and security.
- Perform query optimization, indexing, vacuum tuning, and performance troubleshooting.
- Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Configure and manage High Availability (HA)



and failover solutions.
- Handle database migrations from on-premise to cloud environments.
- Automate database administration tasks using shell scripting, Python, or Ansible/Terraform.
- Work closely with DevOps, application, and infrastructure teams.
- Ensure database security, access control, and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot production incidents and provide root cause analysis.

Professional/ technical Skills:

- Strong experience with PostgreSQL administration (4+ years).
- Expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, replication, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Experience with cloud database services such as:
- Amazon Web Services RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL
- Microsoft Azure PostgreSQL
- Google Cloud Platform Cloud SQL
- Knowledge of HA technologies like Patroni, PgBouncer, Pgpool-II, or streaming replication.
- Experience with backup/recovery tools such as pgBackRest, Barman, or WAL-G.
- Strong SQL and PL/pgSQL skills.
- Scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or Shell scripting

Additional Information:

- The candidate should have minimum 3-6 years of experience in PostgreSQL Administration.
- This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
