Key Responsibilities

Location : Chhatral, Kadi, Mehsana

- Machine Operation & Setup: Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut steel plates ranging from thin gauge to heavy plate (e.g., 6mm to 25mm+). Select proper nozzles, gases (Oxygen/Nitrogen), and cutting parameters based on material thickness.
- Drawing reading & CAD Interpretation: Read and interpret technical engineering drawings, and nesting layouts to execute precise cuts for tank walls, bases, covers, fins, and conservator components.
- Material Handling: Load heavy steel plates onto the laser bed using overhead cranes, jib cranes, or forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using callipers, micrometres, and tape measures to ensure dimensional accuracy. Verify that cut edges are clean, free of excessive dross/burrs, and meet strict tolerances (often within ) to ensure perfect fit-up for the welding team.
- Maintenance: Perform daily routine maintenance on the laser machine, including cleaning optics, changing nozzles, checking gas levels, and clearing scrap trays.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Adhere to all industrial safety protocols, including the mandatory use of laser safety glasses, PPE, and proper handling of compressed gases. Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of experience operating industrial CNC laser cutting machines (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic,



or Mazak) in a medium-to-heavy steel fabrication environment. Experience with transformer tanks or pressure vessels is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading industrial blueprints and welding/fabrication symbols.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming (G-code/M-code) and nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST, TruTops, Lantek).
- Strong knowledge of material properties, specifically mild steel and stainless-steel behaviors under thermal cutting.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and safely operate material handling equipment like overhead cranes and forklifts (certification a plus).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; a technical certification in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or Welding/Fabrication is a solid asset.
- Zero-Defect Fit-Ups: The downstream fabrication and welding teams receive perfectly cut plates that line up seamlessly, minimizing the need for manual grinding or reworking.
- High Nesting Efficiency: Maximizing material yield from steel sheets, keeping scrap rates below target thresholds.
- Machine Uptime: Consistently keeping the laser running safely through proactive daily maintenance and quick troubleshooting of minor errors.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
