Designation: Snowflake Administrator

Description

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Administrator to lead the design, deployment, and operational support of our Snowflake data platform. The ideal candidate will ensure platform reliability, security, and performance while enabling rapid, repeatable deployments through CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code. This role requires collaboration with data engineering, security, and cloud teams to implement best practices across governance, access control, and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

- Design, configure, and maintain Snowflake accounts, databases, schemas, warehouses, resource monitors, and storage integration.
- Implement and enforce RBAC, role hierarchies, and least-privilege access controls for users, roles, and services.
- Develop, maintain, and operate CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake object deployments, using Git-based workflows and pipeline automation tools.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform on AWS and Azure; maintain reproducible Infrastructure as Code modules.
- Write, review, and optimize SQL for data validation, migrations, and administrative tasks.
- Automate operational tasks and build tooling using Python for monitoring, alerting, and housekeeping.
- Monitor performance and cost; perform performance tuning, clustering, and warehouse sizing to optimize query performance and spend.
- Implement security, governance, and compliance controls including data masking, object tagging, and audit logging.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard data workloads and establish deployment standards, runbooks, and DR procedures.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, run periodic reviews, and perform capacity planning.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Proven experience with Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
- Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing queries and data models for analytic workloads.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and integration tasks.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for database and data platform deployments using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Deep understanding of RBAC, security best practices, and data governance in cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, and cost management for cloud data platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional engineering and data teams.
