Full job description

Job Title: Nursing officer/incharge

Department: Nursing

Reporting To: Operations Manager

Location: Egmore

Job Summary:

The Assistant Nursing Superintendent (ANS) assists the Nursing Superintendent in planning, organizing, and supervising nursing services in the hospital. The ANS ensures quality patient care, proper nursing practices, staff coordination, and adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Nursing Administration

- Assist the Nursing Superintendent in managing day-to-day nursing operations.
- Supervise nursing staff across wards, ICU, OT, and other departments.
- Ensure proper duty roster preparation and staff allocation.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and discipline of nursing staff.

2. Patient Care Management

- Ensure high standards of patient care and nursing practices.
- Monitor patient safety protocols and infection control practices.
- Address patient complaints and coordinate with concerned departments.

3. Staff Management

- Guide and supervise Staff Nurses, Ward In-charges, and Nursing Assistants.
- Conduct performance monitoring and support training programs.
- Assist in recruitment, orientation, and skill development of nursing staff.

4. Quality & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, NABH standards,



and nursing protocols.
- Maintain nursing documentation and patient records.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement programs.

5. Coordination

- Coordinate with doctors, administration, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all nursing units.
- Support hospital events, accreditation processes, and inspections.

6. Training & Development

- Conduct clinical training sessions and continuing nursing education (CNE).
- Promote professional development and skill enhancement among nurses.

Qualification:

- B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registered Nurse & Midwife (RNM) with State Nursing Council.

Experience:

- 5–8years of clinical experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role in a hospital.

- Strong clinical knowledge
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of hospital accreditation standards (NABH)
- Administrative and documentation skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
