How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Boiler cum Utility Operator, you'll be at the forefront of our operations, driving safe and effective utility performance across boilers and auxiliary systems. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance plant productivity, improve safety, and enhance operational reliability. In this role, you will:
- Operate steam boilers and utility equipment, ensuring continuous and efficient plant operations in shift duties.
- Perform daily water analysis, including boiler feed water, condensate, and blowdown water, and manage chemical treatment systems.
- Monitor and maintain boiler logbooks, checklists, and operational records accurately.
- Operate and troubleshoot water softener plants, air compressors, cooling towers, and auxiliary utility systems.
- Execute safe start-up, shutdown, and interlock trials for boilers and utility systems.
- Support annual boiler inspections and ensure compliance with Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR).
- Perform maintenance and repair of boiler mountings and accessories such as gauge glass, safety valves, and blowdown systems.
- Monitor steam traps, condensate recovery systems, and energy efficiency improvements.
- Troubleshoot equipment including nitrogen plants, HVAC/chilling systems, and compressed air systems.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure operational continuity.
- Follow safety systems including work permits, lockout-tagout (LOTO), and emergency procedures.
- Participate in safety initiatives including emergency drills, rescue squad activities, and audits.
- Maintain 5S standards in the boiler and utility area and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- ITI in Boiler trade or equivalent technical qualification.
- NCTVT certification with Boiler Attendant Examination and HSC.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in boiler and utility operations within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with utility systems including boilers, compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, and nitrogen plants.
- Proficiency in SAP ERP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data management and reporting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for utility and auxiliary equipment.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, drawings, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID;).
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to supervise and manage contract workforce effectively.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001).
- Experience with energy monitoring systems and performance optimization.
- Ability to analyze operational data and generate performance reports.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements for safety and efficiency.
