Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, customer account reconciliation, and cash application. The role supports the company's cash flow by maintaining accurate financial records and providing excellent customer service. Experience in the shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding industry and proficiency in Zoho Books are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and issue customer invoices for freight, shipping, logistics, port handling, customs clearance, and related services.
- Generate invoices, credit notes, and customer statements using Zoho Books.
- Record customer payments and accurately allocate receipts against invoices.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on overdue payments to ensure timely collections.
- Perform customer account reconciliations and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and ensure data integrity in Zoho Books.
- Prepare weekly and monthly Accounts Receivable aging reports and collection status reports.
- Coordinate with the Operations, Documentation, and Sales teams to verify shipping documents and billing information.
- Reconcile bank receipts with customer payments and update accounting records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies,



accounting standards, and applicable tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of invoices, payment records, and customer correspondence.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably in the shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding industry.
- Hands-on experience with Zoho Books is required.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading (B/L), Delivery Orders, freight invoices, and port-related charges.
- Knowledge of international shipping practices and Incoterms is an advantage.
- Experience handling multi-currency transactions and overseas customers.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
