Position: Housekeeping SupervisorJob Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. The role includes leading housekeeping attendants, conducting inspections, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction through efficient and quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and allocate daily work assignments to housekeeping attendants and room attendants.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, corridors, and back-of-house areas to ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness and quality standards.
- Ensure all occupied, vacant, arrival, and departure rooms are cleaned and released on time.
- Monitor room status and coordinate with the Front Office for timely room availability.
- Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, grooming standards, and guest service.
- Ensure guest requests, complaints, and special requirements are handled promptly and professionally.
- Maintain housekeeping inventories, linen, guest supplies, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
- Ensure proper usage, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Report maintenance defects, safety hazards, and lost & found items according to hotel procedures.
- Maintain departmental records, inspection checklists, attendance, duty rosters, and shift reports.
- Ensure compliance with hotel SOPs, hygiene standards, health & safety regulations, and fire safety procedures.
- Monitor employee grooming, discipline, attendance, and productivity.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Front Office, Laundry, and other departments for smooth daily operations.




- Conduct regular room inspections and provide corrective feedback to team members.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeping Manager in achieving departmental goals and maintaining service excellence.
- Ensure housekeeping pantries, linen rooms, and storage areas remain clean, organized, and adequately stocked.

Qualifications & Skills

- Graduate or Diploma in Hotel Management preferred.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Housekeeping, with at least 1 year as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a hotel or resort.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, chemicals, and equipment.
- Good leadership, team management, and training skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office and Hotel PMS preferred).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Physically fit and willing to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness, quality, and guest satisfaction.
