Peeling Incharge

Position: Peeling Incharge
Department: Production – Peeling Section
Location: Manufacturing Plant
Reports To: Production Head / Factory Manager

Job Summary

The Peeling Incharge is responsible for overall management of the peeling section, ensuring production targets, veneer quality, manpower efficiency, machine utilization, and continuous process improvement. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and coordination with cross-functional departments to maximize productivity and minimize production losses.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, and manage the complete operations of the peeling section.
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Monitor veneer quality, recovery percentage, thickness, and moisture levels.
- Optimize machine utilization and reduce operational downtime.
- Coordinate with Log Yard, Debarker, Maintenance, Boiler, and Quality departments for smooth operations.
- Plan manpower deployment and monitor employee performance.
- Analyze production reports and implement productivity improvement initiatives.
- Minimize veneer wastage and maximize log recovery.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Maintain compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and housekeeping (5S).
- Conduct training and skill development for operators and supervisors.
- Prepare MIS reports and present production performance to management.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.

- Expert knowledge of veneer peeling machines and plywood manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.




- Production planning and process optimization.

- Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S practices.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.

Qualifications

- Minimum Education: Diploma / B.Tech (Mechanical/Wood Technology) preferred.
- Experience: 5–8 years in veneer peeling or plywood manufacturing, including 2–3 years in a leadership role.

- Veneer recovery percentage.
- Machine efficiency (OEE).
- Quality rejection percentage.
- Production cost optimization.
- Machine downtime reduction.

Working Conditions

- Manufacturing/Factory environment.
- Adaptable working hours based on production requirements.
- Frequent shop-floor monitoring.
- Exposure to industrial machinery, wood dust, and noise (PPE mandatory).

Salary Range (India)

- Experienced: ₹30,000–₹45,000 per month
- Highly Experienced: ₹45,000–₹60,000+ per month (depending on plant size, production capacity, and experience)

These JDs are specifically designed for a plywood manufacturing unit such as KOKAM Ply and are suitable for recruitment, HR documentation, performance appraisal, and organizational structuring. They also align well with medium to large plywood manufacturing plants operating high-capacity veneer peeling lines.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
